Pictures of Blank

My parents always wanted me to be a lawyer, journalist or a pilot. However, I felt I was always meant to live an artistic life. Singing, dancing, painting, playing the piano, or acting, at the end of the day none of that would work. I could never be a Beyonce, and forget painting. I can’t even draw a stick figure.
As a child, I loved taking pictures with my father’s camera. He had some fancy Canon with a gigantic lens. He would let me take pictures with it, and I loved it. That feeling and those memories stuck with me through out the years and one of my first big purchases was a top of the line Canon and everything that went with it. I carried that camera everywhere. When I got married we decided to sell it all because I didn’t need anything that expensive. I didn’t even know how to use 70 percent of its features.
I have always had an overwhelming need to capture important moments, to keep with me for life; most silly, like my lunch salad, but a deeply fulfilling memory. Because of that I have always had a camera with me.
In 2005, I began sharing my work and the feed back was very inspiring. The support was more than I imagined. In 2006, Pictures of Blank was born, and I found myself wanting to do more with my work. Sadly, mid 2007, my camera died on me which put everything on hold. There were no more pictures or website. Nothing. And I missed it.
I decided in November of 2007 to buy a new Canon I had been dreaming about for a few months. It was a big upgrade, but nothing that would break the bank. I finally got my new camera for my birthday in December and re-launched Pictures of Blank in 2008.
This is going to be my year. The drive, the passion, the desire, the love I have for photography is stronger than ever. This is the “it” I have been looking for my entire life, that one thing that drives me to do more, and to be more. And that’s exactly what I am going to do. Be more. Next, becoming a Professional. See you in 2009.
Work for your dreams. Live for your passion.
A majority of my photography and art can be found over at Pictures of Blank.
