I have asked for a manager in these situations and then, if something can't be worked out, asked the manager to give me, in writing, the name and contact details of the person to whom complaints are sent. One good tip is to keep your voice very quiet so that they have to concentrate to hear you, and then raise it a bit when other customers come near. They hate that. On the flip side, I have also written to Marriott, Club Med and Holiday Inn, Continental Airlines and American Airlines management to say something nice about staff that have gone out of their way for us. After getting closer, the bed looked like someone had suffered a head wound in the bed. It was tooooo late to change hotels so I had to settle for just changing rooms. Left in the morning. Still feel uneasy every time I think of it. The next time I stayed at a Hilton, I was injured. Again, arriving late (Thanks to the experiences I STOPPED arriving late at night), I noticed that the seat on the toilet had a crack in it. Let this be a warning if you see a toilet seat with a crack DON'T SIT DOWN! The toilet seat grabbed my tender skin - pinched the heck out of me - and left a welt! The Manager happily gave me a gift certificate for a free night's (LOL WHILE WRITING THIS PART) stay. Marriott is my brand of choice, and I totally know what you mean about liking a particular hotel chain and sticking with it. I am atPlatinum status with Marriott, but sometimes I just don't feel like I receive all of the perks that I should for the amont of money they have received from me (or my company!)
