Today

by Monique on November 4, 2008

Today is such an amazing day for this country and I am sure I don’t need to tell anyone why.

However, I would like to encourage everyone to get out and vote.

Go go!

I voted! I went last week and did early voting. My husband has to go today though. :-D

Lisa365 11.04.08 at 12:41 pm

If I could, I would! :-)

I’m sure I’ll end up glued in front of my Canadian TV, watching on every one of our channels about what is going on down in the US of A.

May the best guy win! :-)

Claire 11.04.08 at 12:51 pm

Meh they wont let me vote, bastards! :)

I have a beer chilling in the fridge and fingers crossed for a good result.

Done and done! I was the second person in line in my Ward. I might swing by the state store on my way home and exercise my right to buy a bottle of Asti.

Cause I think I’m gonna want it. :) (Notice I said, WANT it, not NEED it. Its called HOPE!!)

LOL @ Claire. Me neither. I’d vote if I lived in the US. But I’m still pretty peeved that they’ve invaded my TV so much over here in Canada. It’s too much.

We took off work to vote and enjoyed the whole day. It was sunny and warm so we did some shopping (always good) and went to the zoo! It only took us 10 minutes to vote at 11:15 a.m. and there was no line for our ward. May the best man win and God bless America!

Despite first going to what I thought was my voting place and discovering it was indeed NOT, I soldiered forth and made it to the right place. Even denied myself some cookies afterwards. What’s the deal with all the bake sales at these things? It’s like the Girl Scouts selling outside a Walmart. Don’t they know I’m on a diet?

The husband and I voted this morning. We were amazed to find no line at 9am. Now we will stay up all night and watch!

Andrew 11.05.08 at 6:14 am

Yes, congratulations America – you have made the right decision and you have taken a major step forward; you can stand proud tonight with what your actions have achieved today.

Even here in Australia, we were all hoping for an Obama victory, I believe that he as the opportunity to be one of *the* great Presidents.

I had to wait in line for 5 hours to vote but it was worth it!

castocreations 11.05.08 at 11:22 am

I voted several days ago absentee. I hope you’re happy this morning. Be careful what you wish for though…ideas count for something and his scare the crap out of me. I hope I’m wrong.

Dori 11.05.08 at 2:47 pm

I voted by absentee ballot and sat up all night watching the results. It was great :-)

I’ve been following Obama since I voted for him for senator in the Illinois primary back in 2004. I’ve been reading about him and his ideas and his accomplishments avidly ever since. It was with great joy and enthusiasm that I colored in my little circle on my ballot on Tuesday morning and cast my vote for him. It was the fourth election where I’d voted for him, and the most satisfying. Change won’t come easy. He has a monumental road to climb.

Okay, this is gonna sound funny… I voted for McCain. BUT – After watching the reactions from everyone when they announced Obama, and after hearing what the world had to say yesterday… oh my GOSH I’m so glad he won!!!

I didn’t realize at ALL what significance Obama was. As horrid as that sounds, I really really didn’t. Now, after looking at his beautiful little girls, and the family picture and all of the reactions that people had. I’m teary eyed!

I’m so very very excited he’s our new President. Yeah!!!

I should have checked him out more.. hee hee.

Hugs sweetie and yeah!

Yes, I am happy he won too… When I did my research, I wanted him to become president long ago. I’m hoping for some great changes in the US.

Btw, you have something waiting to be picked up. Go here: http://newyorkchica.com/2008/11/i-am-so-honored/
