So… I Lied

I seriously was working hard as hell to make more time for myself and the things I love and enjoy… and then somehow I ended up signing up to become a Mary Kay consultant. So, naturally that means I will have even less free time. I am really excited about it though, so that’s a plus.

As for work-work, it’s moving along at the pace of a snail. We have recovered from April 15th and now things are pretty much at a dead halt. I am expecting to have a crazy rush for Mother’s Day and then a ton of confusion and annoyance due to the postage rate increase on May 12th. If you live in the United States and you use stamps for ANYTHING, go out and get yourself a book or two or five of Forever Stamps. They are the same rate as a regular stamp, and what happens is that you get grandfathered into the current postage rate for as long as you have those stamps. And I know that a penny isn’t much of an increase, but 3 months from now, stamps could increase $.05 and those of you who still have those Forever Stamps won’t be affected by it.

That’s my public service announcement for the day.

On the photography front, I am in need of a day of clear skies and sun where I can just go and take endless pictures. Not that it matters though since I haven’t completely uploaded all of my vacation pictures. What a bum I am.

Wait, how can I be a bum who has 3 jobs? I’m just a tired ass woman. I need about 3 days of bland living and a lot of sleep and all will be well with the world.

Anyway, it’s time for me to go to work. I hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying life!

    Hang in there!!!

I bought a pack of those forever stamps at Costco and saved a couple pennies there. I don’t plan to use them though until the rate goes up even higher. A penny is nothing compared to what it could rise to. :) Those darned Postal folks. lol

I actually really like my postal workers. Especially my delivery lady. She’s super nice.

Oh don’t forget to remind folks (including me because I’ll forget too!) about the USPS food drive on May 10! I need to start putting things in bags - I’ll be driving to the post office to drop off all the food to donate. =)

I always think it’s funny when people complain about an increase in stamps. I mean even if it increased 10 cents (knock on wood) that’s still a pretty good deal for mailing something ACROSS THE COUNTRY. Sheesh.

I only get annoyed at the increase because, since I never buy stamps (if I can email it/fax it/phone it in… I DO!) I never have ones reflecting the current rate. LOL. Of course you’re giving good advice, but I’m sure I won’t buy Forever stamp 1.

    /sigh

hmm… I don’t often mail stuff out but I do make sure I am stocked with stamps. Eh what the hell. I’m going to go buy them for the sheer principle. Thanks for the tip!

Oh and best of luck with your new Mary Kay gig!

Forever stamps… hehe that’s a funny name. Makes me imagine stamps that will return to you once the sender receives the letter you’ve sent. Now that’s forever!

*hugs* Monique… take care of yourself! Don’t burn out!

I bought $100 worth of forever stamps last month in fact. We hardly use stamps so I’m figuring we could be 80 years old and stamps be $1.00 each before they’re all used. I will have saved a bundle :)

Are you going to drive a pink Caddy? I sent the husband to buy five books of forever stamps last week. I figure those will last two years. Please make sure you take time to breathe!

Monique: I bought some Forever stamps last year and I still have a few. I might use one once in awhile. I hope to buy several more books of them next week.

Regarding Mary Kay…most of the reps that I know do very well with it. That said…I tried it back in 1992 and it didn’t work for me. Fortunately I was able to get my money back on it. I think it takes a certain type of person to do it and I bet you are the one who can!!!!! You go girl!!!!!

I just bought some post card stamps and they lady was telling me to use them before the 15th. I don’t mind the increase, but raise it to .75 and leave it there. every year seems a bit much….i do have my forever stamps though. @ 42 cents still a good price.
