Road to Recovery

Yesterday I was feeling better, and today I am feeling like utter crap. I’m having hot flashes and my throat is killing me. But I can speak without sounding like a dying frog. My throat is still coated in that yucky phlegm goo, which is beyond disgusting. I can’t swallow it, or cough it up.

The vicodin I’m taking is helpful. It doesn’t kill the pain but it definitely takes the edge off. My appetite was back, but today the minute I put some scrambled eggs in my mouth I got queasy.

I ‘m cleared to go back to work on Thursday and I am so excited. I actually miss it. And I don’t just mean my co-workers (who I absolutely adore) but I also miss the customers. I miss those friendly faces and I even miss the cranky people who frustrated me so much that I wanted to choke them.

Plus, all this off time is bad for my bank account. A few weeks ago I discovered Amazon.com, and now everything I need, I search there first. And by discovered, I don’t mean it was the first time I went to it. It was however the first time I made a big purchase there and realized the bargains I could find. For months upon months I have been drooling and longing for a Canon Powershot S5 IS and the price for one had been pretty outrageous. It was decided that I would finally get one for my birthday, but I did not want to spend 500 bucks on one. A few weeks before that I had found a book I was looking for on Amazon and it was delivered to me the next day. I was shocked. Free shipping and it arrived the next day! So, I figured I’d see what they were offering as a price for the camera. They had it for over $100 dollars cheaper than anyone else, plus free shipping and I’d have it the day of my birthday even though I ordered it on the 24th. Naturally, I’ve become obsessed. If I could order some groceries from them I would. Oh wait… I can! I love Amazon.

My latest purchase is the Post Secret books. So addicting. I head over to the site every Sunday to see the news ones. Now I can just take my time and flip through the books. Ha! I’m sure I will be done with them both in a matter of hours. I tell you, some of the things people confess is beyond shocking. Like this doozy:

Post Secret

Anyway, I’m going to curl up with my blanket and watch yet another Law and Order marathon and hope I start to feel normal again.
